On February 4, 2008, we started this BETA version of The Daily Voice, a web site that aims to be the leading destination for African American news and opinion.

The finished version of the site launched on July 21, 2008. We hope to make this a welcome spot for all members of the community, whether they are young or old, Republican or Democrat, male or female, gay or straight. Our mission is to provide a lively and interactive forum where all the members of the community can come together in one spot.

It is an unprecedented undertaking, but we believe it is also long overdue. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoy bringing it to you.

Submission Guidelines

The Daily Voice accepts unsolicited submissions for publication. News articles must be original pieces not published elsewhere and submitted by the author along with the author's email address and telephone number. Articles should deal with timely current events or news events relevant to the readership of the site. We generally do not publish unsolicited articles longer than 1000 words. News articles should be sent to editor@thedailyvoice.com.

Opinion pieces (or op-eds) must be original commentary, 750-800 words maximum, and not published elsewhere in print or online. Op-eds should also include (1) the author's email address and telephone number, (2) a jpeg photo headshot and (3) a 1-line bio description to be used for the published piece. Op-ed pieces should be sent to editor@thedailyvoice.com.
