Personally, I feel that we should re-think the handshake in our culture anyway. If germs are being passed on through this custom why put us all in a position to want to wipe our hands after some handshakes (ick). Even sitting in church I hear coughing right behind me and I know at a certain point I will have to shake that persons hand. Handshakes are becoming awkward. I going to leave the former President alone on this one and like the aforementioned poster said there are more urgent issues to deal with right now. So why pick on George W. with did he or didn't he.

I don't think that it makes him racist, just uncomfortable being where he was and doing what he was doing. He definitely wiped his hand on Pres. Clinton. I don't have a problem with that, except why not use YOUR OWN SHIRT? Where is your handkerchief, doesn't every president have one?

Honestly,it did look like former president Bush wiped his hand on former president Clinton's shirt after shaking hands with Haitian earthquake victims. But, let us not call him racist for doing so. There are a lot of people who do not wash their hands and because of this, hand to hand contact has become a real concern in the world today because of bacteria,etc. I myself, hate to touch anyone or anything...that does not make me a racist. If anything, Bush is probably a Germophobe...I can't blame him for that because like I said previously there are a lot of people in this world who do have good sanitary practices!!!Perhaps, he should have been more discret and wiped his hand on his pants because in American, Big brother is always watching.

This is so ridiculous. Its obvious that there is an edit right after Bush put his hand on Clinton. For all we know, he might have been touching Clinton to point him to their next task, to the truck, whatever. At the most, it might have been an affectionate touch.

Why would the world want to help the Haitian people when Bush can not stand shaking hands with one of them. If he was afraid of getting something then he shouldn't have took up the handshake offer. I'm pretty sure he has shook plenty of people's hands in this country that was unclean. I've seen people walk in the restroom and walk back out without washing their hands after using it. I've seen some just wash the tip of their fingers and wihtout soap at that. Better yet he shouldn't have went. He looks very uncomfortable. He knew the situatation was before he went. Look at how Clinton looks more comfortable than him. Maybe he's not a rasict but, all the dirty business that was done in the white house his hands could be more filty than theirs. Anyway, who am I to judge only Bush and God knows the truth. Bush has done more for the people of Africa than any other president. He has sent millions of dollars over to that country. It is a joke to say that Bush is let off the hook for everything. I do not know if he wiped his hands, but I noticed as a a young lady interviewed Bush there were so many people shaking his hand he could barely pay attention to the interviewer. Yes Bush has helped the African people more than any other president.

I think the video is hilarious! can't help but laugh. No I don't think Bush is a racist and I very much dislike the guy. Sometimes I myself would wipe my hands after shaking someone's hand because you just get that feeling of uncleanliness sometimes. The question here is why did he wipe it on Clinton and not his own shirt or pants? Bush looked very uncomfortable while Clinton was in his element. Something tells me we'll not be seeing George Bush doing much humanitarian missions like this in his retirement.

tjr and Lupe, great point about the un-cleanliness aspect of it, we have all felt that way from time to time! But, I think Bush, who has his many flaws will continue to do this sort of work when the world needs him, remember, he's a blue blood from the old school, they have been programmed to help the needy and poor, as long as it does not involve raising taxes, and, gives him license to say he's a good Christian :-).
