Disturbing video: Israeli soldier shoots Palestinian detainee

The Israeli military has reportedly launched a probe into the conduct of soldiers who were caught on camera shooting a blindfolded and handcuffed Palestinian in the West Bank.

The incident took place on July 7 when the soldier apparently shot a rubber bullet at a Palestinian detainee near the village of Nil'in, according to the Associated Press.

The video clip shows a soldier point a gun at the detainee, who is being held and watched by several other soldiers. The soldier then fires at close range.

The detainee, identified as 27-year-old Ashraf Abu Rahman, was said to be "lightly wounded."

The video has been removed from several YouTube pages after it was initially posted.
