Lebron James covers Time magazine
Staff Reporter | Posted July 28, 2008 12:10 PM
Basketball superstar LeBron James has another honor (and another magazine cover) to add to his list of accomplishments.
James appears on the cover of the August 4th edition of Time Magazine focused on the top 100 athletes to watch at the Beijing Olympic Games.
James, a leader of the US basketball team, is number one on the list, and he guarantees his team will bring home a gold medal. The US team finished third and had to settle for a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
The last time James's appearance on a magazine stirred so much attention was when he showed up on the cover of Vogue Magazine in April in a depiction that some critics saw as "racist."
The Cleveland Cavaliers player appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated when he was just 17 years old, according to.
Meanwhile, Team USA defeated Canada 120-65, in their first exhibition game in preparation for the Olympics.
James himseld did not play because of an injury, but Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade and Michael Redd eached scored 20 points during the game. Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, Chris Bosh, Deron Williams and Kobe Bryant are also part of the team.
