Tim Russert dead at 58

My prayers go out to the Russert Family. I will truly miss the fair and impartial incite this well loved Journalist gave to the world. I was never dissapointed when Tim Russert was delivering the information and I will miss him. I am still in shock.

This was a huge shock, he was a class act, didn't pick a side and was non-partisan, and, was a real journalist in an age of over the top, shrill 'news.' May he rest in peace and his family find the strength of their faith to deal with this loss.

Tim was to real- my son was shocked to see how upset I was about Tim. He was so real. I loved watching Meet the Press on Sunday morning because I knew you would get the real deal. He was so fair and impatial and there is not another show on TV that I can watch and feel the same way. I really don't know how they are going to replace him on Meet the Press. God Bless you Tim and your family. Sad in PA.

I will remember Tim and his family at Mass, this is a real lost to the media and the nation. Unlike so many others in his field he was a fair man. He reported the news he did not spin the news. I am saddened by his passing.

It is so vulgar and self-serving, I am at a loss at the spectacle! A new low in American media greed and obfuscation. My condolences for his family, true- I felt a shock and a sadness over his death, but after reading the comments, I am left to wonder if we all saw the same program and followed the same career… Aside from parroting self-interested media memes, can anyone please explain to me how Russert was anything but an enabler to the powers-that-be? Can anyone please explain why he was “such a great journalist” when all he did was offer a forum for propaganda with almost no opposition? Does anyone doubt that Russert HELPED ELECT BUSH in 04? Do you fools not think he knew what was up and decided to be a pawn to GE’s interests and power in general? Did you not see the many reports chastising Meet the Press for its transparent and insulting republican lean? There were many shows when all the guests were republicans!! Can you not remember past last year? Did you not scream at the television all those times Cheney made nice with Timmy and LIED TO OUR FACES while the troops and the innocents died? I will NOT miss this man. Don’t be fooled by what the talking heads are telling you to think/say/feel…

ok, I just reread my statement, and although I back it 100%, I still somehow feel terrible that he is dead. And I feel terrible that I feel terrible, like I'm suffering some kinda Stockholm syndrome... Sad. Sad for his death, and for his life... -----------------------------------------------------

I too use to watch Russert,He was appologetic for his success. You see his father was working class,but he was not his father went to war,but he did not. And it seems he took that guilt with him to his grave. I sympathize with his family cause on the scale of American life today he was a good father & husband,but I was also shocked to see that during the Presidential election he wrote FLORIDA,FLORIDA,FLORIDA three times on a board and held it up for all America to see,and be influenced by. I wonder how he would have felt had his son voluntered for IRAQ. Hay why wasn't Russert in Vietrnam? He sure didn't follow his fathers foot steps. He was half the man his father was.
