Soccer player arrested for biting referee after 'bad call'
Staff Reporter | Posted June 23, 2008 9:43 AMA soccer player in Delaware has been arrested after he allegedly bit a referee who made a controversial call.
Police say Rannord Jones of New Castle, Delaware argued with the referee of a soccer game after he was given a red card and ejected from the game last Thursday, according to NBC 10 News which first broke the story. In retaliation, Jones, 28, allegedly bit the referee on the chin.
"The player was so enraged that he just savagely attacked the official, biting him almost in an animal manner about the chin," Cpl. Trinidad Navarro told NBC 10.
Jones reportedly turned himself in to police Friday morning and is charged with felony assault and threatening to kill the referee, according to NBC 10.

My question is why file away a more important stories like the Osekre article "Victim of hate incident fired from Columbia University" from June 25th yet continue to let this story run from way back on June 23rd which gets hardly any interest....Whats the dealio? Is it because it contains "shock video" with a button to click? Dude bit a guy in the face! He deserves his punishment. Besides, its Widely Available on the YouTube
