Keith Olbermann Blasts Hillary Clinton Assassination Comment

Hillary Caught in another lie. Why did she say it? She is an intelligent calculated person that will do anything to win, including helping John McCain win, which would allow her to say, "I told you so. Elect me now." The media tonight are being much too kind, except Keith Olbermann blasted her with a history of her sleaze. Hillary Clinton made the same statement about Robert Kennedy's assassination a few months ago, which further shows her apology was false. She did not know about Ted's tumor the last time she said it. "The Kennedys have been much on my mind the last days because of Senator Kennedy," she added, referring to Sen. Edward M. Kennedy’s recent diagnosis of a brain tumor. "I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation and in particular the Kennedy family was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that whatsoever." Keith Olbermann went through the different times she referred to Bobby Kennedy. He blasted her tonight, in my opinion, very much deserved, every word. Olbermann is brutal!! I'm not an Obama-bot (or whatever), I had been hoping for the "dream-team" but I doubt that will happen. It seems to me that both Clinton & Obama are suffering from an unfathomable case of "FOOT- IN-MOUTH" disease, I say this because my heart does not want to believe she meant this the way it came out. Being the extremely tollerant & mild mannered person I am I want to give HRC the benefit of the doubt, but even I can't help but be bothered by this. You don't just say something like this off the top of your head, I mean, when you think about the reality that in fact, his life IS in danger, what in the world was she thinking bringing up RK's assasination. I'm an Obama supporter and I really have grown to dislike Clinton intensely, but, listening to the original statement at the Argus-Leader, Clinton was simply saying that we all remember that it was June when Kennedy wrapped up the nomination because how on earth could we forget that night? Well, it was the end of my freshman year in college and I was home and had gotten up early to go fishing when I heard the news on the radio. By comparison, I was still on campus when ML King was shot, so I have to think about the date -- I remember it was spring, but not exactly when. The impact of that tragedy was seen in the reactions of my college friends, not those of my parents or neighbors at home. Similarly, Hillary had just ended her junior year at Wellesley and I'm sure she is able to pinpoint the moment just as easily, because she, too, was out of school for that short moment between school and summer job. People in our age group had followed Bobby's campaign because he represented an alternative to the machine, and the organizers of the Chicago demonstrations were on the verge of calling off the gathering if Bobby were to be the nominee. We had a lot invested in his campaign, because Eugene McCarthy's was clearly going nowhere. It was a moment that rocked the structure on a massive scale that you can't understand if you weren't part of the process. Keith Olbermann was nine years old. If he noticed at all, I'm sure it didn't make much of a dent. My little sisters have only a vague memory of JFK's death because that's about how old they were. He's wrong, and he can shout into the camera all he wants, but it won't make him right. (And I still want Obama to win.)

Clinton Out Of Touch With Apology Hillary Clinton's apology proves how she and her campaign advisors are out of touch in not realizing how far her mentioning how Robert Kennedy as a Presidential candidate was assassinated impacted Barack Obama's base of supports in Chicago. The last public statement Kennedy made before being killed was that he was on his way to Chicago, which is the current home base of Presidential candidate Obama. Just this past week, former Republican Presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee made a joke that a loud noise that came from behind the stage where was speaking was Barack Obama ducking gunfire. Huckabee later apologized for publicly suggesting that Barack Obama could be the subject of gun fire. Despite notification to Clinton's press office from angry Obama supporters, Clinton still only offered a public acknowledgement to Senator Ted Kennedy, who himself may be facing a life threatening cancer. Chicago's 24 hour Black news/talk radio station, WVON-AM 1690 had to alter it's regular program schedule for a few hours to accommodate the overwhelming number of callers outraged over Clinton's comments. CNN Radio News updated their reports that while Senator Clinton was apologizing to the Kennedy family for mentioning the Robert Kennedy assassination, that many national blog sites were interpreting her comments as if she still had a chance of winning because Obama could be assassinated in June!!

She keeps saying something bad happens to Senator Obama because she knows she has lost and because a calamity is the only way she can beat him. Hillary Clinton keeps talking about assassinations because she keeps thinking about it. Hillary Clinton is evil. Hillary Clinton is vicious, a bad person. I used to like and admire the Clintons; today, I think they are bad heartless people. Hllary has made many inappropriate comments and has resorted to dirty campaigning against Obama, which in fact, is politics as usual. Unfortunate, but not surprising nor extraordinary. 4. Both Obama and Robert Kennedy Jr. have made public statements dismissing any allegation that her comments where anything but innocent, if not poorly worded, attempts to remind us that party campaigns can go into June. Which they have. 5. If Obama and Robert Kennedy Jr. don't truly feel that way, then they are being dishonest with the American people. My commentary is four fold: 1. Yes. We are on the same page. I started out with "email discussion groups" in 1987 at my university during computer science courses. Then came the web and America Online. I refer to those people as "keyboard cowards" as a term of endearment. As you know, these are people who hide behind keyboards while enjoying false bravery through anonymity. Our illiterate president, George Bush, well exemplifies what happens when a national leader cannot speak effectively nor speak with diplomacy. Hillary Clinton, if you look back at her record, listen to her during the debates, she is exceptionally articulate and chooses her words carefully and chooses her words to be powerful. In debate, Clinton talks circles around Obama and does defeat Obama during each debate. I believe the embarrassment of the last debate prompted Obama to refuse future debates; he realized Clinton will eat him alive with her words along with a realization the media has removed their kid gloves. Based on my experience as an English professor and based on my experience at speaking before audiences of hundreds, what I see happening to Clinton is she is becoming worn out, becoming tired, becoming flustered with events. Those and other social maladies we experience do diminish our ability to think fast, think sharp and think clearly. Clinton is simply tired out. My habit, when confronted with ticklish issues, is to deliberately pause, take a deep breath, think a bit, make an audience wait, weigh my words then speak. However, I have not been on the political campaign trail for almost two years. In fairness, I believe we should display some understanding. All three, Clinton, Obama and McCain have made mistakes in wording, as we all do. All three are under a lot of stress, are tired out, are flustered, are speaking under the most demanding conditions. Would any of us be able to speak well, speak bravely, while knowing the entire world is listening and the entire world is ready to pounce on our every word? I think not. We need to provide some compassion for all three candidates, provide some realistic understanding. If a man was doing what HRC is, would this kind of hate be present? The real problem here is that all of the Obama-bots can't stand seeing a mere woman trying to win! The message is loud and clear. Her message is for uniting the party behind her. This is her attempt to talk to the African-American community. There are two reasons that African-Americans would not vote for Obama. 1. He cannot win. 2. They will never let him serve. I can just hear Ms. Tubbs talking to Hillary when I hear these words.
